Sovata is a balneoclimatic resort located in Mureș County, 60 km east of Târgu Mureș. Famous for its heliotohermal lakes, especially Lake Ursu, the resort attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists each year due to the therapeutic properties of its saline waters and mild climate.
Lake Ursu is the largest heliotohermal lake in the world. Its salty water is naturally heated by the sun, reaching temperatures of 30–40°C at depth, due to a unique stratification phenomenon. The therapeutic properties of the water and mud are recommended for rheumatic, gynaecological and nervous system conditions.
From Târgu Mureș: DN13A eastbound, approximately 60 km (about 1 hour). From Cluj-Napoca: via Târgu Mureș or Praid, approximately 160 km. The guesthouse is on the main road at the entrance to the resort.

Sovata has a moderate mountain climate, with cool summers and mild winters. Average summer temperature is 18–22°C, and in winter –2°C to +5°C. The spa season is open all year round.
